Why am I a beer newb? To summarize: I was raised LDS (You know, the Mormons) and as a member of this particular religion alcohol is forbidden. Being the obedient follower I never consumed any sort of beverage until about a year after I decided to stop being Mormon. Since then I've been trying the things that I was never allowed to try. Turns out that it's not the end of the world. Thank the "Great Bobble Head Jesus" (aka BHJ) in the sky for that!
It hasn't been until recently that I have actually started enjoying beers. My pallet has finally allowed me to enjoy different beers. I plan to share with you as much as I can related to my beer newbie-ness.

To start, I have just finished a glass of, what I would consider a current favorite, Shock Top. This is a Belgian style wheat ale from St. Louis. To be honest, the only reason why I decided to try this beer was the mass media advertising... I drive by a large billboard at least once a week and I find the label artwork to be very attractive. Silly reason, I know, BUT it worked out because I really enjoy this beer. All in all, it's very easy for me to drink. The flavor is sweet (for a beer) and I really enjoy the hint of orange flavor. Also, the pouring instructions make it rather fun, sort of working for a good taste (okay maybe not).

"To serve the brew perfectly, pour the brew down the side of the glass until about 1/2 inch of the brew is left in the bottle. Lay the bottle on its side and roll it gently back & forth, mixing what's left. Pour the rest of the brew, producing a nice thick collar of foam. Enjoy!"
And "Enjoy!" I did, finished it about ten minutes ago.
Keep in mind, I am a newb! It's only been the last month or so where I have been experiencing and enjoying beers. I'll be back again later to tell you more about my beer newbishness.
Thanks for reading!
